Good (don't die) or don't die Donda?
Hello everybody.
I want to know if someone else noticed the similarity between the end sound of don't die and donda in this song. Because the first time he pronounces the phrase "don't die" he pronounces correctly the words "don't die"
- /doʊnt daɪ/
with all the phonetic sounds, without swallowing any words.
whereas, the second time he sing the chorus between the 01:12 - 01:16 he pronounces clearly the word DONDA (don't die, Donda), swallowing the last phoneme /ɪ/
- /ˈdɑːndə/
In my opinion there is a obviously a deliberate wordplay die and Donda. In the Kanye's art nothing is a coincidence. The lyric is a play on words. This argument gains strength because only in the second chorus he mentions Donda. In contrast, the rest of the choir says "don't die, don't die". Only between the 01:12 - 01:16 he says "don't die, Donda" (/ˈdɑːndə/). Besides, when you search the lyric on internet only says don't die, don't die.
Im open to hearing your opinions
