The Strange Case of Shadab Khan and the Pakistani Cricket team's selection.
I saw the squad they selected for and they kept Shadab Khan. It makes no sense why he has been given so many chances. Every time there is a big opponent, he fails miserably. I even noticed in the T20 world cup when they would exclude players like Abrar and Sufyan Muqeem. Shadab played almost all games and did not even budge.
When was the last time he played an ODI? What was the last game he won for Pakistan singlehandedly? Yet in PSL he was named "Allrounder of the tournament".
We had Allrounders like Razzaq, Malik and Afridi, to now this??? Damad Khan? (yes for those who don't know, he is Saqlain Mushtaq's Damad aka son in law). Shaheen Afridi is also another son in law who is so powerful, he cannot be removed. His pace has gone down. He cannot get any early wickets.
Do members of the Pakistan Cricket Board even care about the game? The Chairman holds 3 posts and he seems to only be interested in the perks of the position rather than do anything. We just lost a humiliating test series to Bangladesh. Now Australia is sending it's newest players to play ODI with our so called "Seniors".
PCB management constantly sets players up to fail, to justify inserting players they like. This is not how you are supposed to run sports. How many Rock Bottoms do we have to hit? The politics they play is almost like Pakistani family drama politics. No wonder why our team loses to non-Test playing minnows. The mismanagement is horrendous and it has been since the 2000s I recall. It keeps getting worse. The rest of the world laughs at the Pakistani Cricket team.
Honestly, if some new players manage to win or score and perform, it is kudos to them, they face a manipulative management and a savage Media.
