I’ve been trying to build a small rotation of hoodies I can rely on, and honestly, it’s been more inconsistent than I expected. A lot of them feel great at first, good fit, comfortable fabric, everything seems solid when you first try them on. It gives that “this is the one” feeling.
But after a few wears and washes, things start to change. Some lose their shape slightly, others shrink just enough to mess with the fit, and a few just don’t feel as comfortable as they did in the beginning. Nothing drastic, but enough to notice.
What’s even more confusing is that hoodies that seem very similar on paper, same style, similar fabric blends, don’t always age the same way. One will hold up really well over time, while another starts to feel worn out much faster, even with similar use.
It made me realize how hard it is to judge a hoodie based on first impressions alone. The real test is how it holds up after regular wear, and that part feels pretty unpredictable.
At this point I’m not sure if it’s better to stick with something once it proves reliable, or keep trying new options hoping to find something better.
Curious how others approach this, do you look for specific materials or construction details that tend to last longer, or is it mostly trial and error for you too?
