Corporate to Med School? Need advice on scholarships so my parents don't pay a single cent.
Hey everyone. I’m (25) currently working in corporate and working on my Master’s, but the med school dream just won't go away.
The catch is, my parents are still paying for my siblings' tuition and I don't want to add to their financial burden at all. If I do this, I need to find a way to fund it myself through scholarships.
For reference: I graduated cum laude (though my GWA is technically at the summa level) and have a solid leadership background — but my undergrad was from a relatively unknown university. I'm about to start reviewing for the NMAT but before I commit, I want to map out my options and backups.
Are there any major scholarships I should target? What are the usual qualifications I need to hit (especially for the NMAT)? Also, does coming from a non-big 4 university impact my chances?
Appreciate any insights or reality checks :)
