The poor management of the virus is what's most scary

I've encountered a lot of people who are very dismissive of this situation, saying "it won't be a big deal" or "the transmission rate is low so its fine", implying that hanta virus is not a problem. But to me, a random person who's kinda freaking out, that doesn't help

My fear isn't that the virus can't reasonably be contained, I know it can. My issue is that it isn't being handled well. Why is it that governments and health organisations are waiting to see how bad things turn out before acting accordingly? Why are we acting on the assumption that it won't be a big deal? Now that we've done that, the situation has gotten worse, and there are carriers in every corner of the world.

We should've just been on action from the very start, ensuring everyone is quarantined and closely monitored for the 8 weeks necessary. If they did that, then yeah, I'd stop freaking out. But that's not what's happening, instead we're left with more cases and probably more death because they were sloppy. Quoting random facts about the virus doesn't help anyone, I just want to know what's being done to help us

I'm not a crazy theorist, I'm not some doomer, I'm a 19 year old who had to live through covid and its consequences, and doesn't want to do that again. That's why I'm scared.

Edit: Also can people stop telling us to "stop overreacting"??? I'm not doing this consciously to sow seeds of doubt and fear, I'm freaking out because I don't know how safe I am and it feels like no one is taking me seriously. Its so frustrating!!!!!
