Super mild case but freaked out.
I did some routine blood work the other day (after heavy workouts 7 of the previous 10 days and while I actively knew I was dehydrated and was experiencing DOMS). Doctor decided that my CK of about 3900 was important enough to call me at 1am about it (it's an online medical service, the same one that ordered the test).
None of the muscle pain, pee is totally fine, my other blood work results are the best they've been in years, and the doctor basically just said let's retest when we can and stay hydrated. Everything seems fine, and I'm pretty confident I'm in the clear, but it's definitely enough to freak me out about how I train.
In an effort to ease my mind, I searched reddit (of course) and found yall. A lot of these stories seem scary and I feel very lucky to have caught my numbers early and mitigated the risk of it getting worse. I don't take for granted that I have not had a hard time like many of you have. That being said, this is definitely something I want to part of worrying about again so I'm curious (especially for those of you in similar mild situations like mine): how did you change your fitness routines to lower your risk? What other tips and tricks do you have?
