Best current energy plans for solar & batteries

Hi All,

We’re about to go ahead with a local company to install a fairly large amount of panels approx 32-34 and 3/4 sigenergy bat 10. We’re a fairly high usage household so I’m trying to find the best electric tariff that’s currently available to sign up to.

We are currently on an octopus fixed tariff which ends at the end of June 26. We are expecting to have the install done in either July or August dependant on the g99 coming back in a reasonable time from the dno if not this may push back further. Until this point my current plan is to just go onto the variable plan and accept the bill will be a bit more expensive in the short term.

What plans would people recommend who may have been in a similar situation as the best octopus tariffs are currently unavailable. We don’t have any EVs so my plan is to export what we don’t use back to the grid if possible and fill the batteries up using generated solar and use the grid more in the winter months.

In an ideal situation I’d like to fill the batteries up overnight on a night tariff, give anything we generate that we aren’t using to the grid to offset in the winter months when we will need to pull from the grid during the day. Is there any tariffs that can do this or can anyone suggest the best that’s currently available until the octopus plans reopen?

Thank you in advance.
