Need advice: recruiter says I need to enlist Monday or lose the job they “secured” for me

Is it normal for recruiters to tell someone that the job they originally wanted wasn’t available, but then suddenly became available after they supposedly made a ROC call or ‘pulled strings’? I was told this was a rare situation and that the position is basically being held just for me. The part that’s making me nervous is that I was told this on a Friday, and now they want me to enlist by Monday to lock in the job.

I’m trying to figure out if this is actually common recruiting pressure/timing, or if jobs really can open up that quickly after calls are made behind the scenes. They also made it sound like if I don’t sign immediately, the opportunity could disappear.

For context, I do want to join the military, so this isn’t me trying to back out. I’m just trying to make sure I’m making a smart decision and not rushing into something because of pressure or fear of losing the job. Has anyone else experienced this?”
