Inspiration for projects

Hi, I like programming but never have any ideas of projects to do. Where do people get inspiration for things?

I had an idea the other day for a mobile app that alerts you if pollen levels are high in your area because all the ones I could find on the Play Store were either shit, required an account or required payment. However, a lot of weather apps have this built in and APIs are expensive, and I'd need a weather API.

I suppose things that I'd use that don't exist are good to make, but there isn't much that fits into that category.

So, how do you get inspiration for coding projects?

Macintosh Classic failing to boot

Hi! My friend was given an old Macintosh Classic. It hasn't been used in around 30 years and therefore we were expecting issues, and that's what we've gotten. When turning it on, even with a disk inserted, it doesn't chime and just sits on a grey screen with lines. It doesn't appear that you can do anything with it. I looked online and it said something about leaking capacitors, which would make sense for a system this old.

Neither of us feel very comfortable with fixing it due to the CRT inside (we have absolutely no clue what we're doing), so if anybody in north west England happens to know anywhere that somehow still repairs these, please let me know.

Got my mock results!

Im in year 10, and a few wewks ago, we did some mocks. We had the results day on Friday, and I'm mostly happy with them! Need to do better in maths, science and history, but everything else is good for me. I'm especially happy with RE. Wasn't expecting a 9, and I was quite literally the minimum score to get one, but its still a 9 so whatever.

Best of luck to all the year 10s and 11s doing their actual exams!

Car overheated, now won't start

Hi, my car overheated with the racing radiator and now won't start. I have:

  • Filled with fluids
  • Fixed and tuned distributor
  • Fixed and tuned carberator
  • Fixed and tuned alternator
  • Fixed rocker shaft
  • Asked Fleetari to tune the car

It is not starting whatsoever. It just cranks until the battery dies, even with the choke completely out. How do I fix this? Thanks.

Update: Fuel tank fell off, still won't start.

Update 2: It was the fucking fuel.
