Why Is Flooding So Bad Here

Seriously. Why is it that a little bit of rain unleashes Neptunes fury on our little town?

What about our drainage, elevation, terrain or whatever makes this place so prone to the flash floods? Is it even something that can be fixed? If so, how much would it cost?

Will Granfalloon Be Better or Worse In Switchyard?

I've always liked Granfalloon on Kirkwood, but I'm worried about the switch to Switchyard and I can't tell if I'm just boomermaxxing because I have to go a little bit further out to experience it.

Not an event planner but a few things come to mind about why this year might be worse.

Its far away from city center, thus more people will use cars to get there with parking limited to what switchyard can handle. Haven't done the math but it seems like far less parking will be available than downtown. For the city, this means less parking revenue.

Additionally, it will just attract fewer people who stroll around downtown for other reasons who chance upon a cool festival.

This also seems like it would be cutting out a major surge for local downtown businesses. No restaurants/stores in Switchyard. Nor sure how much they benefited (or were harmed) prior.

To be clear there seems to be a lot of cool changes too but I'm still concerned.

Anyway, what are other peoples thoughts?
