How many people identified as Oromo are actually of Oromo descent, considering the historical practice of mogasa?

They are also among the least genetically homogeneous ethnic groups in Ethiopia, so I wonder how many of them are descendants of people from various ethnic groups who were assimilated through this process 🤔

A 3rd-century Greek inscription found in Adulis distinguishes the Agazians (Aksumites) from a local tribe called the Tigretes. Does this mean Aksum became inhabited by the Tigretes after the fall of Aksum?

Honestly, this actually makes sense to me because we don’t really know what happened to the Aksumites after the fall of Aksum, and the Zagwes left relatively little evidence behind. I think this might help fill that historical gap. What do y’all think?

Why are so many Ethiopians migrating to Yemen?

So, I was doom-scrolling on Instagram and stumbled across some Yemeni TikToks, and the way they talk about Ethiopians is just horrific. Like, why are people even migrating there in the first place? It’s literally hell, and no one else is going there...it’s just our people. I’m talking thousands every month, and the country can't even afford to deport them. Honestly, it’s so bad that I can't even blame the Yemenis for being frustrated, because it’s just so much migration into one of the poorest country on the planet. Please, let’s at least try to raise some awareness and get people to stop going there. Please.

Can someone explain to me why Tigrayans are calling Habesha kemis "Axumite"?

Are they historically illiterate, or do they really think Axumites wore Habesha kemis? Lol, the way they steal Amhara cultural attire and promote it as their own is crazy.
