Kohler Greek 48 corner install help
Hello,
I am planning to install this drop in tub to the corner of my bathroom (once I finish rough-ins, subfloor, etc.) The rim is only 2.5" at the narrowest point so a typical 2x4 frame would stick out past it, especially after adding the thickness of everything needed to actually tile it. What is the best way to frame this so the tile can end up being flush on the long side? The short exposed side will need some minimal decking or pony wall due to the overflow pipe and I'll most likely add the faucet there as well so I can have an access panel all the plumbing. 2nd option is a wall faucet but no access after install.
Do I need anything extra other than silicone where the bottom tiles will meet the tub on the walled sides? (Kohler sells a tiling-in bead but the directions don't mention it and they just show a generic tub installed without it, their directions are pretty non-specific in general).
2nd pic is an example I found of the flush side tile/tiled wall I am trying to do but I can't find any info on how to do that specifically for this tub. Any advice or resources are appreciated!
Edit: To clarify my first pic, there is no flange along any side to mount directly to a stud, it is a "drop in" tub.
