Scratch patch affecting image quality?

I knowingly bought this Viltrox 20mm f2.8 with a scratched front element for $40 second-hand.

The images don't look bad to me, though. In fact, the scratch may have added some "character" to the lens. The images seem to have thin film or haze, as well as causes light sources to have a bloom effect, like a permanent black mist filter attached to it.

Since I only plan to use it for my day-to-day vlogs and capturing fun memories on my A7IV, I thought that it's pretty cool.

Is the scratch patch actually causing that effect on my image quality?

Was this worth it in your opinion?
