Just reapplied for job that I just missed out on as They went with another candidate that had more experience than me.
I was just wondering what happens in this situation
I know people are not in the company. I was just curious

I am waiting to hear from employer on an offer or rejection
Interviewed last Thursday of April. Company requested references and background check the following day. Completed both reference checks on Tuesday 5/5 and then nothing. Emailed them on Thursday 7/5. The talent acquisition person called on Friday asking to call reference as one has not replied to survey (they had according to email I received). The TA spoke to one of my references to verify something. Then they were sending it to hiring manager for a decision. The TA told me they going on holidays for a week. This brings me to last Thursday. I emailed again and I got this reply:
“Thank you for your email and for following up on your application. We appreciate your interest.
Our recruiter is currently reviewing, and they will be in touch with you regarding next steps soon! I have passed on a note to the recruiter requesting an update. Please note that the recruiter for this role is on leave, this may create a slight delay.
If we require any further information in the meantime, we will reach out.”
Have my references killed my offer or is there still hope. I know the TA works part time according to their LinkedIn profile.
Any help in this would be greatly appreciated
