Advice on filing/following up on a noise complaint
Hello,
I am seeking advice on how to proceed with a noise complaint matter. A street musician regularly plays the first few notes of the same songs with his trumpet, repeatedly and loudly, from 7-9 pm. He is clearly audible from inside my house with the doors and windows closed.
I have tried talking with him numerous times, requesting he move down the street to a less residential area. No businesses are open in the area when he plays and foot traffic is minimal. He will listen to me to an extent before proceeding to play his trumpet over me when he's heard enough.
I have filed a noise complaint with the city but haven't heard back yet. Has anyone dealt with a similar situation? We are entering into warmer weather and it would be so nice to be able to have the front door and/or windows open in the evening.
