Story summary: Trust the Darkworld (and a question first)

((Quick question as a new guy here, so I have a story in progress, but at the moment it’s 40 pages as of now, and I’d imagine that I wouldn’t be able to put the whole thing here, so would I be able to upload or link a file or something? I tried looking at the rule wiki, but I haven’t seen anything about this specific issue, any help or advice would be appreciated, thank you. Anyways, I’ll get to the story breakdown))

This might be messy, but there are some things to know before getting to the main explanation:

Spoilers for Deltarune CH1 btw; disclaimer for swearing (most of the dialogue is based on me and my friends and how we speak.)

So the story basis is essentially my own self insert fantasies when I was younger, but reimagined and more fleshed out, with the two largest game influences in the story are Deltarune Chapter 1, and Warframe. The main story of Deltarune ch1 will be the basis of the plot, but the Warframe part will be the inspiration for the darkworld transformations. Most of the dialogue for Deltarune characters is used directly from the game, unless altered to fit the situation.

The story starts with three characters, Eric, David, and Mark, falling through a void, which was happening for 30 minutes. Eric and David are arguing with each other, and eventually drag Mark into their antics as they fall.

Another important note is that in this story universe, Deltarune is a real game that the three know about to varying degrees. Eric is the most educated of all chapters and most lore, David’s played the first chapter, and Mark hasn’t played any of the game, as he finds it disinteresting compared to his DOOM/souls taste

Then after an exchange of dialogue, the three land in the scarlet forest. As they begin to wake up, they see their newly transformed darkworld forms. Eric inherits Titania’s traits, with wings, pixia, but his costume is more like a fae ranger x high speed biker, with fingerless gloves, light armor and mostly cloth and leather to fit with the deltarune theme. David inherits revenant’s tatsu, coat, and hat, but his aesthetic is more based on knight armor and ghostly visuals. Mark’s transformation is the most un-deltarune, being described as uriel without the helmet. Since I didn’t know how to write in the vinquibus weapon (a straight up gun) into the story, I gave him a nondescript whipsword made of bones and fire to go with his theme.

After they wake up, they’re confused and have no idea what they are or where they’re going, and mostly just checking each other out and joking around, not focused on putting the pieces together. They encounter lancer after he drives in and runs over Eric, where they have their first fight. Lancer wins, as Eric is busy figuring out why everything looks familiar, while Mark and David are busy dodging spades and getting run over by Lancer. He says the line of needing to get back before dinner and his bike is out of fuel, and drives off to leave the three confused. Eric begins to put things together, and with David, he begins to piece together that A, they’re in deltarune, and B, they’re equipped with warframe parts and weapons. Eric also realizes that the order of the game is messed up, since they landed in the forest instead of the purple cliffs, and he back tracks them toward the castle town and meet Ralsei. It’s at this time Eric has the realization that Ralsei might not know him, so he plays along as ignorant, and even if he’s a big fan, he can’t go meta-lore crazy over the goat.

When they meet Ralsei, Eric notes that, since Kris and susie aren’t here, he needs to somehow facilitate the situation to go along with the original story, so he does things like asking ralsei to remove the cloak, introduces himself, and other things. But he also notices some things, like how Ralsei altered the original prophecy, and at times almost said “two” heroes instead of three, and almost called him “Kris” once or twice, so he’s having a struggle of playing along or confronting Ralsei.

They get to the spot where they do the training with the Ralsei dummy, and here is where Eric and Ralsei both begin to have their internal panics. First, since it’s three humans, and not just one, Eric, David, and Mark have their own souls that are active during battles, so they all need to dodge at the same time, as for Ralsei, he has his hp linked to Eric’s. Second, the attack numbers are very high, Eric’s magic pistols doing 80 per hit, David’s sword doing ~180, and Mark's blade whip doing ~250. Third, Eric is the only one that can see the TP bar, which in the story appears to be a large bar in the sky at the border of the battle box. He can’t control the actions of the others, except for ralsei, so he has to convince them to take defensive stances. They also refuse to hug the dummy act, and Eric has to do that himself.

Eric is the only one that can access the in-game menu, the others can see it, but they can’t manipulate or open it. Their stats are really high, using warframe leveling and scaling while Ralsei uses normal deltarune stats, and Eric uses Ralsei’s low stats to convince his friends to do a pacifist run, with Ralsei’s help. As of now, they just finished a battle with Rudinns, where Eric convinced them to be spared with a bit on “they don’t even have dental.” And they just ran into their first lancer sign.

This is probably really messy, and there might be a lot of things left out, but this is a roundabout explanation of things that have happened, and I’d be open to more explanations or clarifications in the comments. Thanks chat.
