These Transit vans are rare to find in my neck of the woods. Rumor has it people like to open them and paint them brown ... IYKYK ... was wondering if it's the same anywhere else??

Recently bought this Greenlight wrecker and when I opened it I noticed the indentions on the ends of the inner case. Do these serve any purpose?

Any info would be appreciated. Matchbox Wiki doesn't go back this far. I just know it was called The Buster. I dragged out an old case I haven't seen in years and was going through them taking pictures and documenting what I have. I don't remember ever seeing this one.
