Advice for finding a young whippet?
Hi thanks for stopping in. I'm looking for a puppy or young whippet. My main question is, are they super rare? In the southeast there's only a few older dogs in shelters. I've never used a breeder, but these dogs are legitimately like $2500 plus?
We're confident it would be the right dog for us. Our catahoula recently died at 16 years old and while I'd never try to replace him, he was so whippet in personality. A similar disposition would be rare to find in another catahoula.
We're going to be patient but definitely don't intend to fork over $2500. We'll get a different breed if necessary. But I really want a whippet they are so sweet.
Did anyone find theirs in a shelter? Guess I just want encouragement to wait. Life doesn't feel right without a sweet baby by my side. A friend has doberman pitbull puppies and they're so cute, but I don't want to chance having an aggressive dog.
