'Backyard' trial and error

Desperately trying to get my family into camping. Did our one night trial and error at Blue Spring State Park in Orange City, Florida this last weekend (No Backyard available) We live 45 min away and visit often as day guests so doing our test night there worked well. Parents had the large tent, kids shared the smaller one. Lessons were learned, things were added to the Amazon cart, I super over packed but overall we had a good time! Biggest lesson, Florida is hot (duh, lived here my whole life you would think I know this by now...) bring ALL the fans. Not just the craptastic Aldi ones. We also suck at grilling with charcoal and need more practice there. I thoroughly enjoyed our early morning walk before they opened the gates to the day guests. So peaceful. Husband and kids agreed to go again so a big win in my book!
