Coffee in horror films — which ones use real brands and which use generic props?
I've been rewatching horror lately and noticed how often coffee appears as a prop — the morning-after-the-haunting kitchen scene, the detective fueled by bad gas station coffee.
Looking for community knowledge on this. Specifically:
- Which horror films do you remember featuring a recognizable coffee brand on screen (the bag, the container, a coffee shop logo, a coffee maker brand)?
- Are there any horror films where coffee or a coffee brand becomes thematically important or memorable, not just background
But honestly more interested in whatever comes to mind — the deepest cuts and weirdest examples welcome. The horror genre seems to have a unique relationship with kitchen-as-haunted-space and I'm curious how brand specificity factors into that.
Any product placement agencies or industry folks lurking who can speak to how coffee specifically gets placed (or doesn't) in horror, that'd also be amazing.
Thanks in advance for any rabbit holes.
