Looking into puppy pads
My mother-in-law owns a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. She's very attached to her, she's owned her since she was a pup, and apparently her dog that she's wanted forever is about in senior years. Just barely.
Perhaps it's because my mother-in-law is herself a senior and had to spend a lot of time taking care of her invalid husband until he passed, and now she is more or less disabled herself, but her beloved Bella was never properly housebroken. My mother-in-law can walk, but has significant pain these days and very little endurance. Fortunately, or unfortunately, her spaniel is very happy just to sit with her on the couch all day. But she does piddle around the house on the regular
She told us the last time that we spoke that she had heard about the washable fabric puppy pads. And she is curious about them. Apparently her dog tears up the disposable ones, and doesn't really use them. "More durable and reusable" has some appeal to her.
That said, my wife and I are looking at the cost, and they're not super cheap. So I thought that this would be a good place to ask if people have experience with them, and if they think that they're actually any good, or if they might have other suggestions.
