Now that I’m older (mid 50s) and have more disposable income I’ve spent the last few years buying gear, and part of that bout of GAS ( gear acquisition syndrome) has been buying the jazz guitar amps I always dreamed about.

I now have a Mesa Boogie Mark I reissue (with an Eminence Hempdog speaker), a pair of Quilter Tone Block 101 and 201 heads into a vintage Raezers Edge Stealth 12, an AER Alpha 40 ( mostly relegated to nylon string duty), and a mid 90s Evans FET 500 1x12. However I keep coming back to my Polytone MiniBrute II.

Did I waste all this money and time? How is it that I’m always searching for a sound and when I come back to the Polytone it’s like, “yeah I’ve been here the whole time buddy….”
