Income tax dept enabled online filing + excel utility for ITR-1 and ITR-4 today (15th May), for income earned in FY 2025-26.
But you should still wait till mid june, since, TDS returns for Q4 are due 31 May. Form 16 and 16A from employers/deductors come by 15th June. If you file before mid-June, your 26AS and AIS will most likely be incomplete. This flags mismatch between return filed and Form 26AS and AIS/TIS.

So, for most people I'd say wait till around 20th June. Let the data settle and then file.
