What's the first foreign TV programme you remember watching?

I thought at first it was Tales of the Riverbank but that was a British show based on a Canadian pilot. So I think The Lone Ranger would have been the first I remember.

Are there rules for abbreviating saint?

Is there any rule that it should be St or St., with a period?

Edit: This started because I saw an advert on the boards during the hockey for "St Hubert". A Quebec based chicken restaurant chain. When I looked them up it turns out that the chain actually uses St-Hubert. But the question stands and thanks for the answers.
