Africa’s Value Chain Deficit

The problem that is arguably at the core of Africa’s Poverty. If other continents continue to process our raw materials, then there is virtually no need to educate the youth unless the goal is to export them as well.

However, the narrative is changing. If you’ve looked at the news lately, you’ll have seen that infrastructure is the main motivation for African funding with the aim of local processing.

The AfCFTA is also doing its best to integrate all the ongoing efforts within Regional Economic Communities in Africa.

Individual African markets are usually too small to bargain with giants like China or the US. The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) is the most important tool for creating a unified bloc that can demand better terms.
