Just heard this Bob Segar classic on the way home and told my wife that it reminded me of my dad. When I was young, he’d take me at night to get my haircut at his friend’s house whose barber “shop” was in his basement. Don’t ask me why, but I remember hearing it on the way home. It must’ve been popular back then..

He’d have the easy listening station on because he hated anything that was fast unless it was Big Band. Anyway, it was a great memory and the same memory comes back every time I hear that song.

Anyway, as soon as we got home, a pretty good thunderstorm hit. One of the things that my dad and I used to love to do was sit on our front porch during a good summer thunderstorm. I didn’t plan on it and I didn’t even think about my dad, but my wife actually drew me out there to our back covered patio.

It was such a pleasant feeling. I’m not sure how many GenX’ers believe in the spiritual world and phenomena that you just know are more than a coincidence, but I thought I’d post anyway.
