17’ TSI Transmission failed at 77k miles
Owned my 17’ TSI alltrack for ~8 months and it needed a transmission..
Bought the car used from a vw dealership with a warranty thank goodness! purchased at 74k miles and immediately had the dealer do the dsg/halidex service. Well 3k miles (~77k) later started hearing a bad clicking sound. I’m pretty mechanical inclined that being said after a few basic inspections ruling out any bearings or axle noises I decided to take it into the shop. Turns out a bolt come loose from the flywheel and completely wrecked my transmission. Service tech stated when he drained the transmission fluid it was completely grey and full of chunks. It was $19,000 for all the work to be done… I paid $200. Get that warranty folks!
Was wondering if anyone’s experienced an early transmission failure like this. Could it have been a one off deal? What else should I expect to fail at 80k miles?
