Having radiation for Dupuytren's nodules

Hello everyone,
I was wondering about protection during the sessions. As I go into my treatment I asked if my head wasn't going to be protected, they had me lying on a table with my hand just above my head. Then the answer I got (in a rather not so kind manner) was that the radiation is extremely localized, I said okay, keep going, but why then in X-ray exams we often get a heavy blanket to protect other body parts and why do they leave the room? What exactly is the extra harm Im being exposed to?

A clarification from the professionals would be greatly appreciated!

Radiation treatment for Dupuytren's

I'm a patient and I'm about to have treatment in both my hands. Would like to know if there are any recommendations for after radiation treatments (of course I will also ask my doctor). And also wondering why so few doctors in the US offer this treatment for Dupuytren's, while in Europe it's quite common.

Thanks

What is good after radiation therapy?

I will soon receive Radiation Therapy in both my hands, does TCM recommend supplements or topical treatments before, during or after treatment ? I know it will damage DNA and wonder if there's any detox method for afterwards.

Thank you all

Hello everyone,

I'm 51 yo and after 20 years working for a company I got laid off. I have between 35k I want to invest in my next source of income and if I need to spend more than I budgeted for, 40k is the max I can go.

Currently I'm thinking I should invest in creating a business, or even buying a business. But I want it to be a safe investment more than anything due to my age.

Any recommendations

Hello everyone,

I was diagnosed with what is called Dupuytren's Disease. It affects the palms of the hands and overtime nodules turn to hard cords formed by excessive collagen build up that causes the fingers to permanently bend inwards. This out of control collagen build up behaves similar to cancer and I will soon have Radiation treatment in my hands.

My acupuncturist said I have cold hands and that my liver was weak. I honestly don't know what that means, but he wants to insert needles in my hands and that I don't want to do, because it most likely will cause more collagen response to damage and possibly speed up the fingers contractures.

Anyways. I've been reading this book, Healing With Whole Foods to try understanding how TMC treats cold hand, weak liver, radiation detox, preparation for radiation, what it may say about collagen...

Does anyone here have any advice? The book is great, but I'm actually overwhelmed with the amount of information.

Thank you all!
