OK. Walked to Chikatsuyu today, nice man met me at Kii Tanabe took my luggage and it was in my 'room' at Sen Retreat when I arrived.

Long walk to Hongu tomorrow and realise now I have no idea where to leave the bags for the next leg.

It's one of the 'unmamned' places so no real reception to leave it at, no idea if the luggage people will have access to the room tomorrow (not entirely sure how it got in lol).

Anyone have any experience? Don't really want to get to Hongu and have to bus back lol, and don't want to wait and see before heading as it's a long warm day.

Of course this doesn't actually MATTER but I'm about 35 weeks into a continuous run of meeting goals.

First day was a Sunday, and every Saturday (day 7) it would finish a week, and every fourth Saturday role a new 4 p week streak.

Somehow though it's missing a day. Every day in every month is flagged as meeting, I haven't 'reset' a 4 week streak but it's one day behind now. Instead of the week filling up on a Saturday it's now only finishing a 'row' on a Sunday. I'm one day behind.

Anyone else seen anomalies lately? Was there a leap week I wasn't aware of?

Howdy all. Family trip to Japan in September, all planned but I can stay longer after sending family home 2nd October.

I then discovered the Kumano Kodo and watched youtube, ordered the pack, analysed the route (planning to do Takijiri-Oji -> Hongu -> Nachi) and chose some local hikes to confirm that I can achieve it before booking.

Everything I had read said need to book 2-3 months out but it must be going gangbusters. By the time I put in a reservation request with Kumano Travel 5 months from start date Takahara was effectively gone, the school at Koguchi is booked out all October and most of November.

I've submitted a compromised booking request, I've taken out Takahara and will do Takiji-Oji straight to Chikatsuyu. I've asked for Takada Green Land which has a half hour shuttle from Koguchi, Sansaro Cafe backup.

But my submission was just as golden week hit, and I see in this sub that they may be a long way behind.

I've got quite set on doing this and worked towards it over the last few weeks and kicking myself I didn't move faster on booking but wanted to plan properly. While I bite my nails waiting for something back, how nervous should I be. It's a bit of a roller coaster of emotions as I prepare for the worst :( I think Hongu and probably Chikatsuyu will be fine, Koguchi is the critical point.
