How do you find clients as a freelance creative designer/SMM?

Hey everyone, I'm a freelance creative designer and social media manager (branding, content creation, social media management/strategy, that kind of thing). I've also got a small team on standby whenever a project needs extra hands, so we can scale up pretty quickly if needed.

Lately I've been struggling to consistently land new clients and wanted to pick the community's brain, how do you all go about finding clients as a freelancer/small team? Are there platforms, communities, or approaches that have actually worked for you?

Side note, I've started offering new clients a 1-week free trial just so they can see the quality of work before committing to anything, not sure if that's a good strategy long-term or if there's a smarter way to build trust with new leads. Curious what's worked for others here.

1 week of Social Media Management

Offering free 1-week social media management (+ design & video) to build our portfolio, taking on a few clients

Hey all, we're a small creative team just getting started and looking for our first few clients, so I'll keep this straight.

We handle the whole content side of a business so the owner doesn't have to:

  • Social media management — planning, posting, captions, staying consistent
  • Graphic design — posts, ads, branding, whatever your feed needs
  • Video production — full shoots and editing, not just cutting up footage you send us

Basically, if it's content, we take it off your plate.

Here's the deal: we'll run one full week free as a trial. No card, no commitment. You see exactly what working with us looks like and what we produce, and if it's not a fit, we shake hands and part ways. We're doing this because we'd rather show the work than talk about it, and honestly we want a few strong results to build on.

If you run a business (or know someone who does) that's been meaning to sort out its socials but never has the time, drop a comment or DM me and I'll get you set up.

Cleaning business - Advice on getting clients

Hello everyone. I’d like to thank everyone who helped me on the last post.

If you are in the cleaning business I’d like to get pointers on how to get clients. I am currently doing meta ads aggressively and we’re getting a few conversations but help from someone that actually pivoted would be amazing.

Currently have partnerships with bigger cleaning companies but in the long run this wouldn’t be helpful for us as a company.

Questions:
How to get clients that are recurring and how to keep them?
How to get deals with bigger companies, restaurants, hotel and buildings?

Advice on Setting Up Cleaning Business

Hello there fellow redittors and aspiring business owners.
So I’m planning to start a cleaning business here in the UAE:

Here are current informations in hand
Business license - a friend has agreed to give me one (he already has a cleaning license for other purposes)
Car - two 5 seater cars
Cleaners - Over 10 cleaners with their own ID’s and experience
Background - I have digital marketing, design and service based businesses (teaching) experience
Budget - 25k+ max is what I’m willing to invest in this

Current situation: I’m employed with 10k salary and planning to be financially not free but flexible.

I wanted advice and inputs from people that are already in the industry or have been.

What product-based business would you start with AED 150–200k if you had creative skills?

I’m trying to move away from purely service-based work because digital services can become extremely time-consuming and mentally exhausting.
My background is in: Creative design, UI/UX design, Videography, Photography
Right now I’m looking for something small and product-based that I can start with around AED150–200k
I’m not expecting instant success I just want something:
scalable over time less dependent on constantly trading hours for money
creative enough to fit my skills
possible to start small and validate quickly

I’m struggling to identify what actually has good demand and realistic margins at a very small starting budget.

If you were in my position, what would you start?
