Help decide the 2026 anti-RTO billboard design
Update May 20th 2026: Thank you so much to everyone for stepping up and getting us to where we needed to get with the fundraising!!! Thanks to everyone who donated, shared the link, and got the word out. We have now raised enough funds for one billboard, and because we would not be able to secure a second billboard within the necessary timeframe, we are pausing the fundraiser to avoid collecting funds without a defined purpose. I'll keep you guys updated as we move through the rest of the process.
Hi everyone,
I wanted to provide an update on vendors. Because we are getting started late this year, most of them don't have billboard availability within our timeline. However, I found one who does. This vendor can get the billboard up by June 1st provided that we finalize the order this week. The billboard location is in West Sacramento and will be visible to Eastbound traffic. You can see the location on images attached. However, in order to book it we need to raise $8000 by Thursday EOD. The billboard itself is $7000, but there will be taxes and processing fees. If we need more time to raise the money, then maybe we can still book the billboard next week and it can go up the first week of June. If we don’t get this one, then there aren’t any other options until the end of June. We’ll have to call it off and refund everyone their money.
The other option is digital billboards. Those only show each ad for a few seconds before switching to the next ad. They’re cheaper and have a faster turnaround time. I think we could probably get one of those. However, I don’t recommend this route because a digital billboard won’t be as impactful.
In the meantime, we need to finalize our design. We have received 4 submissions so far, which I have included in this post. I'm leaning towards a version of Option #1 because it focuses on telework savings and traffic. However, I think it may need some tweaks. Please "vote" on your preferred option and suggest modifications for improvement. Let me know if you have questions.
Edit: Option #3 and #4 were accidentally posted as the same picture. Reddit won't allow me to edit the images in the post. The real #4 is the top picture here: https://imgur.com/a/Iwl2KHT
Things to consider:
- Is the message clear and persuasive to the average driver?
- Is it true (kind of obvious but I want to make sure we consider this)?
- Is it easily readable at a distance?
- Is there a clear call to action?
- Does it make grammatical sense?
