TLDR

I showed up to my regular mandated, yearly urine test to be screening for my Adderall in order to continue my prescription. Adderall did not show up in my urine for the first time in over 20 years. I was accused of divergent and told the DEA going to come after me.

I demanded another urine sets on the spot and it’s positive for my Adderall. My pharmacist reassured me that the test was wrong as long as I’m taking medication as prescribed.

My primary care physician has been avoiding my calls and messages regarding if I’m going to get a refill or not. I’m freaking out.

Has this happened to anyone else? If so, what was the outcome?

I work full time and my partner is deployed. I’m managing the house alone. If my meds are pulled, it will severely impact my quality of life.

UPDATE

My doctor did not renew my Adderall prescription. I’m still waiting for the results of my second piss test. I have no idea what will happen even if I do piss hot for my medication the second time.

She also said she was going to reach out to a colleague someone in psychology who prescribes ADD medication’s to get his ideas on why I may have encountered a test where my medication’s were not showing up. I have no idea what to expect or if they’re going to come to their own conclusions.

I’ve ordered my own FDA cleared drug test to screen my urine.

My pharmacist said as long as I’m taking my Adderall the way I should be then the urine test is clearly wrong and they should do it again.

I was reviewing my old test results that found no Adderall in my system and found this fine print:

This test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by [REDACTED FOR PRIVACY] Labs. It has not been cleared or approved by the US Food and Drug Administration. This test is used for clinical purposes. It should not be regarded as investigational or for research.

Why are they threatening my meds?!

TLDR

My ADD meds haven’t been working for years.

Whatever, I kept taking them. Just had my annual pee test - meds did not show up.

I’ve been on them since 20 and I’m nearly 40 now. This has never happened to me. I demanded another urine test and provided it on the spot, but now my PCP has to be “reach out to her people in psychology” to get their views.

My meds might be pulled because they’re fearing a DEA audit.
