2026 Cycle Advice
Hello! I know this is fairly early but I would love any advice as a first generation, low income student to prepare for the upcoming admissions cycle. I am a Political Science student at prestigious institution and will be applying KJD. I scored a 171 on the LSAT and a 3.64 LSAC GPA. I am an URM and former foster youth. I have interned for the Senate, Manhattan DA, and have various leadership roles on and off campus. I have experience as a research assistant and am doing a senior thesis with 15,000 in research funding. I have also worked full time whilst in school and have experienced a hospital stay thus rendering me a disabled student (which I intend to explain in my GPA addendum). I have three LORs : 1 from a high ranking faculty member and department head (whom I researched under), an Executive Director on campus, and a tenured professor in my department. I would love to gather any insight into what I can do to prepare to get into a T14. I have quite a story I intend to convey in my personal statement that tracks my journey from foster care to my goal of becoming an attorney. Thank you! Kind words only please!
