My attempt at a vanilla, 1/2 step only build of the SR-71. I think it came out pretty good :)
The smuggler’s ship. Based on the VL-850 Starskipper by freighter_factory on insta.
Based loosely on the Rocinante from The Expanse
Transport/passenger ship that can be converted into a bomber with a few modifications.
L stands for long, indicating the elongated cabin.
A short-range fighter, the Shuriken’s small size and lateral kino thrusters give it the speed and maneuverability to gain the upper hand in any dogfight, whether in vacuum or atmosphere. It excels in aerial combat and fleet/base defense, though its warp drive range limits its capabilities for long range missions away from its home base.
Initial design based on u/Narrow-River3300 post (https://www.reddit.com/r/NMS_Corvette_Design/s/iJeLd8Nwn8)
Hi all! I recently got into NMS and really enjoyed the corvette design aspect, and have started to design some of my own corvettes (with a lot of inspiration from others on this sub) and wanted to share some of my creations with you all. I’ll be posting more of my designs in the coming days, and given I have already made several, might as well add a little role-play and release them as the first generation line of a new ship design corporation, Blue Nova Industries. My design philosophy is one based around compact builds that are reproducible and easy to use, especially on console (I play on a Switch). All of my first gen builds use standard parts with 1/2 step offsets. They all feature entrances that do not require jet packs to enter and are no more than 1 staircase away from the cockpit, and all (save for one) can be flown in 1st person.
The first, and flagship of the company, is the Trident, named for its distinctive paint job mirroring the ancient weapon. It is an all purpose, luxury corvette perfect for the average entity. Its larger size compared to our other ships allows for high storage capacity while also maximizing maneuverability, speed, and warp distance within its weight-class.
