Bridging the gap between privacy oriented birth control reminder and generic fertility apps that try to do it all

Most people complain that birth control reminders and trackers exist mainly in fertility tools like Flo and Clue so they don't deliver the full experience catered to the niche and eventually push toward the opposite direction. I chose to bridge the gap with PillBird - free and fully private birth control reminder app that:

- supports the 7 most popular methods,

- has smart contextual reminders,

- comes with refill nudges,

- includes partner sharing that doesn't force your partner to download the app,

- similarly, clinician sharing included

- supports end-to-end encrypted data exports with optional cloud sync.

All the best features are free and any premium feature is a nice-to-have add-on.

The goal was to make it fully accessible, useful, and supportive without exploiting users. Trust is everything.

Took 3 days this time but my fourth app is officially prod ready

I built Quizbud as a fun, interactive friendship forging app that tests your friends' knowledge of you and let's you share quotes, letters, poems, notes, etc with your buddies from both inside and outside the app.

Doesn't solve anything but does cure boredom at times. Check out the website in the meantime while I fight to get prod releases.

P.S. if the look feels familiar, it's because it's a sister app to LoveTest AI which was released 3 weeks ago

Thanks to the App Hive for another app granted prod access. My 4th!

I love how this community works without fail. The rigorous testing process has been a lifesaver and I can get a ton of ideas out there with minimal issues.

Thanks so much!

I made this calm, thoughtful, private birth control app

I've learned that most people can't count on existing solutions because they cater to fertility and pregnancy audience rather than the people trying to avoid either avenue, so I built a solution for people who forget to take their pills, need check in nudges, partner sharing, and full privacy. Zero knowledge architecture, completely hands off. Presenting PillBird

Private birth control reminder with zero knowledge architecture

It's hard to build an app with zero knowledge architecture that keeps you fully hands-off when people often prefer cloud sync and account intensive features, so with Pillbird, I opted to balance the best of both worlds.

This all started with some light keyword research when I stumbled upon birth control reminders as a consistent search term. I studied the field, intent, and apps in similar categories only to find that most birth control focused apps, aren't focused on the contraceptive aspects but the fertility to pregnancy journey.

Which means they are all in one tools built to burn the candle from both sides instead of focusing on the main category.

Rambling aside, I experimented on a design for the perfect, calm, and private birth control reminder across all methods. Context aware, smart suggestions and reminders, backup nudges, guided method-switching with links from trusted sources like planned parenthood website and partner sharing. Spent the last month or so building, refining, and perfecting it. And voila! We have Pillbird

Third app got prod access in under 24 hours again!

Hey all,

Thanks to App Hive and most of my tester group, I've got my pet app prod access

Why does it take so long to kick someone off AppHive when they have RP below 8?

I've read that people who don't participate well in hives get kicked especially if their rep is low so as to not bring the rest of us down. But on two occasions I've seen them only get kicked out one the last day of the hive which defeats the purpose of them serving their penance.

Which means for 2 weeks we have to tolerate incompetence and constant arbitration cases with no way forward.

So why do they only get removed after wreaking havoc for weeks?
