New to Reddit! HELLLLP!

My fiancé and I are finalizing vendors, and I keep going back and forth on whether a live band is actually worth it over a DJ. We originally thought “definitely DJ” because of budget, but we recently went to a wedding with a smaller live band and the energy was honestly unreal. People who NEVER dance were on the floor all night.

We found a newer band (The R.A.X) in the Chicago area that seems really talented and more affordable than the huge established groups, which is making the decision harder. Their clips look amazing but I’m nervous about booking a newer company for such a big day.

For people who did live music:

• Was it worth the extra cost?
• Did guests actually notice/care?
• Has anyone else heard of them/worked with them?
