Was cleaning my horses sheath for the first time (only had him for a few months) and noticed this? What caused this slight protruding? Looks irritated? He is able to tuck it into his sheath, but noticed this didn’t seem right then looked at his bedding and his pee does look a little darker than normal. Not sure if its appearing darker because it was puddled where there was no shavings? Couldn’t have been there longer than 4 hours though. I wiped it clean with a wet paper towel and didn’t see and blood or discoloring. I didn’t see any beans but i didn’t get to look very well. Its currently 1am here vet will be contacted in the morning in the meantime, anything i can do?

This JUST happened a few hours ago, i contacted my farrier but with it being a holiday i haven’t heard from him yet. What can i do in the meantime for him? He was running around today so not sure if he just chipped his hoof really bad or an abscess? I soaked in epsom salt. There was no blood or puss. Should i wrap? Any advice appreciated!
