My fiancee just asked me if evolving to gold from silver spent any essence and I say no, it doesn't. She insisted that she just upgrade someone to gold from silver and it spent the 2 only essences she had. So I opened my game and evolved a Clue Chaser Filia to gold from silver. I checked, I had 2 light essences before evolution, and now I have 0, so it seems it also has spent my essence. Is this a new bug, or are we going crazy? It shouldn't be spending any essences, should it be? Does something similar happen with y'all?

Yeah, One Up was one of my first golds and is probably my favorite character to play, is the one I feel the most confidence in playing and is the one I trust to handle the hardest challenges I face in the game. At the beginning I was using him with Starlight Rose, but I once I began building up more teams to play in prize fights, I needed to found other supports to him until I found this team composition who I really like.

One Up can be built pretty tank so the punishment to my mistakes don't hurt so much, and Maid of Honor can keep him with full live. One Up SA already give him enough damage to handle anything that isn't particularly blue wears mask uses a old fashin grenade launcher and have "corrosive" in her name, but of course there's nothing like that in the game so no worries hahah. Raining Champ gives One Up still more damage and still more room to recover from mistakes. Like, if the One Up dies, Raining Champ can say "congratulations now do it again" and Maid of Honor Marquee can say "yeah but now it will be harder"

Wait, you ask about Raining Champ? Yes, of course I have her, thank God. Imagine if she was sitting in my fortune for two months and I didn't pull her hahahah, it would be awful. I think in this time I would had pulled like, 5 diamonds from my fortune list, and no one would be her. Wow it would suck ass hahahahah

Now that I'm thinking about, it would suck even more because some weeks ago I remembering thinking "oh, I need to stop investing coins in random characters and invest some more in my One Up, because right now I can do Parallel Realms in Nightmare but it isn't consistently, and his moves are like lvl 7, I should level up then until at least lvl 10". And of course since I already had Raining Champ, I decided to reroll some stats and change some moves so he has many HP% and few ATK%, because I can trust the little kid to buff his damage so he can deal with anything his SA can't deal. Imagine if I didn't had this Umbrella variant I did this investment. It would massively decreased my damage in Undying Boss Battles, since One Up is my go-to to every boss and without Raining Champ his damage would be way smaller. But I wouldn't never taken such stupid decision, because I have experience with gacha, I know RNG is a bitch, and I know you cannot count with characters you don't have, because you never know when you'll get them hahahahah I would never EVER be so stupid. Just because I was being lucky with the diamonds I wanted before her? Don't be silly hahahahahahah

What, you are saying my Raining Champ looks a little weird? Oh, you think? I don't know what you're talking about hahahah. Maybe it is because she is shiny or something? I don't know, she looks perfectly normal and real to me. Is not like I was having trouble to reach 60M in Annie when it was easy before hahahahahahah.

If I'm using Martial Outlaw as a support for, let's say, a Big Band. And I want to increase the likelihood of Martial Outlaw SA2 to proc. Who should I build with accuracy, the Martial Outlaw who has the SA, or the Big Band who is doing the hits to proc?
