What are my odds? Internal Interview
I recently applied for a position internally with my company. Same company, different brand. I have experience in this brand previously as well as other brands in my company.
I had my interview for the role today and thought it went well. I had to create a 20 minute presentation which I also think went well.
After the interview I reached out to a current team member on the team whom I knew through previous roles and asked if they could help put in a good word. They let me know that they actually applied for the role as well as another similar role and that the team is actually going through a reorganization where they’re going to lose there current roles if they don’t get hired for the new ones.
While i do genuinely hope the person gets the role and not lose there job I feel like I have no shot and just wasted my time. Granted I like interviewing and think it’s good to practice and sharpening but if I knew this was the case and that they will probably just hire the people currently on the team I probably wouldn’t of applied.
I’m still hopeful and would love to get the role I just feel like my chances dropped immensely after hearing this.
