Bug report : Japan

For some reason, when I took the "Strike South" focus, while Tojo became the leader of the fascist party, he never became leader of the country, I guess because the event doesn't actually change the rulling party : stayed authoritarian under Konoe. Couldn't do the focuses with Tojo.

The other is not much, but if you take the decisions to clean China, the one for Tibets doesn't make it a puppet like the others, but give some chinese land, in exchange for Tibet joining the faction... except you can take this decision even without a faction (contrary to the focus about Siam) : so you simply lose land.

Once again, great mod.

Japan, the empire from where the sun rises and never sets.

A fun game with Japan; had finished with China in 38 (I was actually quite surprised because I hate this war in vanilla), just in time to attack the Allies before WW2 began. I even had time to make a quick trip in the US before guaranteeing Poland and Finland to get a CB against the German/Italian/Soviets.

Find the War of the World event quite funny in how much of poor taste it must be to make such a radio show while Britain is being invaded.

For some reason, while I had no scripted peace deal for the victory against the US as I expected, I had the script for Allies victory over Germany : so once again I had to make the trick of going from 80% cap to 100% in 24 hours : made the war quite a bit longer.

And the UK now has 2 kings, must be a nightmare of a government: maybe the reason why they are delusional and believe they rule the Waves with not a single boat left.

Quite fitting to have McArthur as the US general in charge of the US now.

PS: love the map for eastern USSR, very fun to fight along the Trans-Siberian.

Total Victory... over the script

Another war, another script I try to avoid :)

So this time, the war against the Allies. I guess more people did it than the Austrian/Italian one, and so once you win, you get a scripted peace deal were you get Europe, but all the rest goes to the kingdom in exile of both UK and Dutch. Not under my watch!

I'm not sure if the script start once you take London, or more commonly once the UK reach below some surrender progress (usually the later).

No problem, you've just got to make sure you encircle the biggest cities and leave the pocket empty to take them all if not at the same time, at least in the same day.

Luckily for us, London is a wooping 20% or something, so in this war, those condition were quite simple to meet all (see my old TFR cheesing the script for a much much more difficult experience at the same logic).

I'm not sure the Soviet are ready for what's to come.

-------

It is very rare I leave a comment regarding my vision of a good scripted peace deal, I like to cheese them, but I completly understand the narrative behind them and rest assured I've played the playthrough faithfully to the spirit at least once before doing something like that.

That being said, I have a pretty strong opinion about this one.

Because for Germany, the war with the Allies pose always a great dilemna : should I invest into artificial rubber for I will have none of it for the whole duration of the war, or should I believe I can win the war in less than around a year, where my plane and truck stockpile will take the hit with virtually no possibility of producing new one to resplenish the pool?

I am of the opinion that the mod is right in how a peace deal in Europe, should not deliver the rest of the Empire to Germany. But the very same nation you were at war with, have no problem putting the rubber back on the market for you again.

Thus I think, once the script is done and the peace is signed, you should be automaticlly embargoed by the exile goverment. And thus you should have an option to declare once again the war against the kingdom in exile that would include an automatic alliance with the US for them since you threaten Canada and the Carabieen island.

This in my opinion, would make for a truely interesting change of pace, were as Germany you actually have a reason to invest into rubber factory, make a safary to take Suez, then projecting power toward Asia a necessity.

---

Anyway great mod, and I must say, I love the fact that you have no designer in this. I hate them, and while I understand why Paradox made them and why most player want them, I think they make the game and balance terrible and are a bore.

Funny Bug : completly winning the war against Italy (during the 1934 war against Austria) will be treated as a defeat by the script.

I always have lots of fun with mods having scripted peace deal because my first reaction is always, how can I get a different one.

When there is the event that trigger a failed NSDAP coup in Austria and allows you to wage war to support the coup, you are supposed to win against Austria, then take one of the few passage through Italy which is South Tyrol and get a peace deal were you keep Austria and Tyrol for yourself.

My first reaction was, but what if I avoid taking Tyrol and simply make a pocket there, and here I was winning the war some months later.

But apparently, making peace this way trigger the loss event.

The comeback

Haven't read the lore surrounding Napoleon in Pax Brit, so I don't know if he's avenging Waterloo here, or if this is the first Napoleonic conquest of this universe, but here it is a new sort of Pax.

Really excited for the social developement to work under the new mechanics at some point, but at least, since now even focuses don't do anything either, I don't have to fixate on only playing nations that can improve the world.
And conservative are not too bad when it comes to civil liberties laws.

I wanted to play Henry Ford at first, or the British colony surrounding the new lake in the Sahara, but it seems you still can't quit a faction in this mod. So Napoleon it was.

Finally got them all

80 hours, most of them played during the demo. Finally succeeded on making a run where I found this damn log before the 10th trophy. My thanks to the dev, and there seems to be a new update and new success the 15th, can't wait.

Dikk Society : 1300 (From Papacy to Kingdom of Jersualem Old World Conquest).

R5 : tried the mod Dikk Society since I saw a post about it, was a lot of fun.

Took a bit of time to understand how the eco works, and the best template (go full Spike; and late game add 1 bombard, absurdly OP).

Had a bit of fun cheesing the economy of the game : PP is replaced by money here, and you can change your laws, build trade port or tavern to get positive money : good stuff to do early to mid game, went to +200 per day with the legit way.

But there is a pretty big "maintain the economy" negative % that keep growing exponentially as you grow taller.
Well, no problem, just build enough building that drain your economy (farm + barrack) until you make negative money : and tada -> the magic of the double negative make you ridicilous amount of money toward late game, in the +10k and more.

I think Papacy is one of the best starting nation, I quickly tried the Templars, but they seemed a bit hard to understand the mecanics, while the Papacy starts with a healthy budget, and room for expansion.

I think I will try again with the Templars now that I understand the mecanics better, or the Prussian that as usual get the best army in the game (not that it matter that much).

Anyway to get access to the multiplayer version?

I've been playing the game a lot with my brother this last year and was looking at Dex video playing with Bocary himself.
Was wondering if there was a beta somewhere, like on the discord, that allow us to access the multiplayer version, even if it is quite junky and work only with known individual through pasting build code.
