I feel like I’m failing at potty training my golden retriever…
First time raising a golden puppy and I honestly didn’t realize how dramatic they are about heat lol. Mine is around 6 months old now and lately he’s been drinking SO much water during the day. He drinks in bursts—nothing for a while, then suddenly a lot. And I’ve caught him trying to drink from the toilet once or twice too…
The weird part is he’s also started randomly peeing on the kitchen floor even though he was doing pretty well with potty training before. Sometimes he’ll pee on the kitchen floor and then immediately lie down there or roll around like nothing happened…
I don’t know if this is just a summer thing / puppy phase or if I accidentally taught him bad habits somehow. We take him out pretty often already. Anyone else’s golden do this when the weather gets warmer? How did you stop the indoor peeing without taking away water?
He’s super sweet but my apartment currently smells like wet dog and bad decisions 😭
