Snapchat how dose the count go up if my boyfriend says he took off the app but it goes up by 20 ,50 100 points and I stay off mine and mine went up by a few points 1/2 points help me understand this?!?!

I have been hurt in the past big time he says he has to but I want to believe him cause he is the sweetest man in the world but I just want to get key facts first on this snap score.
