Why is Octavia so unbelievably stupid?
One of life's greatest mysteries is how fast Red Rising would end if Octavia stopped aura farming. I just really want someone to explain this to me:
So in Golden son, Octavia had Darrow on his knees ready to die, Aja right at her side...and she really wanted Fitchner to prove himself there? Right there, killing the most important person in the whole revolution...thats where she wanted to test something? Even if he wasn't going to betray her (I get she had 0 idea he would do that) WHY would you want to risk it like that?
In Morning Star, Octavia was put in the same situation and I guess she felt making that mistake once was too little so she had to make it again. EXPLAIN to me why in GODS name would it ever make sense drag out an execution of the 2 most important people in the one revolution SPECIFICALLY against you? It literally makes no sense for her to do this. She's out here talking about some "lets send a message" when in the start of the book its revealed everyone thought Darrow was dead cause she used a look alike in the execution. Why doesn't she just do that again? Why not just kill them both immediately and then do the whole "message" thing with fake lookalikes for Darrow and Mustang? How is that not the smartest thing to do?
