Would an Armored Core NEXT be enough to change the tide of the BETA war in humanities favor?

Armored Core NEXTs (from AC4/For Answer) are futuristic mechs powered by Kojima technology that allows them to have Primal Armor, a shielding technology that absorbs ballistic/explosive damage until overloaded, speeds exceeding Mach 1, and a piloting system that allows for 1:1 response times. However they do give off a bunch of radiation through Kojima particles released into the atmosphere, leading to severe pollution to the environment.
Scenario:
Let’s say a NEXT (of your choosing) appears in the Muv-Luv Alt universe and aligns with whichever nation/faction you want them to be with (Wynne D with the EU, Kasumi Sumika with Japan, Old King with Allegiance, Strayed with whoever gives the most money, etc.)
Some ideas of possible time periods for them to appear in :
- 1983 during Schwarzesmarken
- 1998 BETA invasion of Japan
- October of 2001 during MLA
In this scenario let’s give the AC’s the ability to resupply/repair so they can still function after a battle, and their technology can’t be instantly reversed engineered, which I doubt the nations of earth could even do.
If one NEXT isn’t enough, how many do you think would make a significant difference? And how would the BETA adapt? How would a NEXT perform against a laser fort (or multiple)?
