Blue Ridge Parkway - road trip report
I recently completed a north to south drive of the Blue Ridge Parkway with my pup and had a great trip, so wanted to share. Since I live in Virginia, I thought I’d incorporate Shenandoah National Park so I started at the northern (Front Royal) entrance and headed south on Skyline Drive. I chose to go at a slow pace so I had plenty of time to stop along the way for hikes and visits into cities along the way. I stopped in Roanoke and Blowing Rock. Some really good breweries and food along the way.
All the campgrounds I stopped at were either NPS or state parks, and they were all pretty solid. The trip from SNP to the southern end point of the BRP took me about 6 days, and from there I headed south to enjoy some lake time in South Carolina and then the Lowcountry. All in all, a really great trip and I highly recommend it!
