Blue Ridge Parkway - road trip report

I recently completed a north to south drive of the Blue Ridge Parkway with my pup and had a great trip, so wanted to share. Since I live in Virginia, I thought I’d incorporate Shenandoah National Park so I started at the northern (Front Royal) entrance and headed south on Skyline Drive. I chose to go at a slow pace so I had plenty of time to stop along the way for hikes and visits into cities along the way. I stopped in Roanoke and Blowing Rock. Some really good breweries and food along the way.

All the campgrounds I stopped at were either NPS or state parks, and they were all pretty solid. The trip from SNP to the southern end point of the BRP took me about 6 days, and from there I headed south to enjoy some lake time in South Carolina and then the Lowcountry. All in all, a really great trip and I highly recommend it!

Campsites:
Loft Mountain (SNP)
Peaks of Otter
Rocky Knob
Doughton Park
Julian Price campground
Lake Powhatan

Hose bib vacuum vacuum breaker help

I have a hose bib that has a black plastic sliding vacuum breaker that sprays water far and wide any time the water is on. If I lift it up I can see and remove the little gasket at the bottom, and I have successfully replaced this gasket in the past. However, it seems to be leaking from the top of the vacuum breaker and I can’t seem to get to the gasket that sits at the top, because it isn’t visible when I slide the breaker all the way up, nor is it visible when it’s clicked into place downward. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can fix this? I’m trying to wash my car and I’m about ready to wrap a towel around it and call it a day.
