Hi, I have 200 hours of experience with Blender, many hours with CAD, and I've tried Fusion 360, Onshape. OpenSCAD. Generally, when I want to create an organic model, I use Blender, but when I want to create something with specific dimensions and 3D print it, I need CAD for parametric design, etc. My problem is that I’m on Linux, so Fusion and SolidWorks just don’t run. I don’t like that Onshape (and Fusion) are cloud-based because I care about my privacy. I’ve heard of FreeCAD, but I’ve heard it’s very strange compared to other CAD programs. What is so strange about it that makes it as difficult as some people say? My main job is as a software engineer, so I don’t have a lot of time to learn CAD. Is it worth trying to switch CAD programs?
