Hey everyone,

I’m based in Australia and kept running into the same issue every EOFY — trying to track down receipts for tax deductions.

Between emails, paper receipts, and random screenshots, it becomes a mess. And when it’s time to file with the ATO, I always end up:

  • Missing receipts I know I had
  • Spending hours organizing everything last minute
  • Manually putting data into spreadsheets

So I built RefundMate to make this easier.

The goal is pretty simple:

  • Quickly save receipts throughout the year (instead of scrambling at EOFY)
  • Keep everything organized in one place
  • Export all receipts into Excel/CSV when it’s time to lodge your tax return or share with your accountant

I’m trying to see if this is actually useful for others in Australia — especially for employees claiming deductions, freelancers, or small business owners.

A couple of things I’d love feedback on:

  • How are you currently tracking receipts for tax time?
  • Do you use spreadsheets, apps, or just rely on bank statements?
  • What’s the most annoying part of the whole process?

If anyone wants to try it out and share honest feedback:
