What do I do to dried chickpeas?

I have been given 5 bags of dried Chickpeas. I’ve never cooked or prepared them before. The closest I've had is grocery store hummus (it was a bad experience) and a lovely mom and pop place’s Trinadad Doubles (need these in my veins). I don't know if they are like certain beans where if you don’t prepare them properly they are somewhat toxic.
I don't know of any recipes other than the two stated. I am in Canada so can't do American stores. I have a Walmart and other specific ones but no Aldis or Traders or the like.

Edit. (it weirdly told me it couldn't post, and then posted it. Sorry for the weird double post I don't know what happened)

Just as the title states. The closest I've had is grocery store hummus (it was a bad experience) and a lovely mom and pop place’s Trinadad Doubles (need these in my veins). I don't know if they are like certain beans where if you don’t prepare them properly they are somewhat toxic.

Just had to share something freaking cool that happened in my recent playthrough (spoiler for quest just in case)

I really love purple dragon. Wish they weren’t suffering.
