Need help with Alipay & WeChat setup from India on iPhone( Unable to add credit card)
Hello All, I am stuck with setting up AliPay and WeChat. The issues with both are different so I will mention everything in detail. In India, Chinese apps are banned, so I took out my spare iPhone (using it on WiFi) and created a new Apple ID with region as HongKong (I didn’t use my current iPhone and change Country due to my current active subscriptions and balance in Indian App Store account. I intent to get a Travel eSIM for this phone and use this for all transactions while traveling in China). I downloaded Alipay and WeChat and started the setup for each.
- Alipay - I was able to setup the app and gave phone number of my active SIM ( passport uploaded and verify) and tried adding Bank Card. I tried adding a Master card as well as a Visa Credit card and Amex credit cards but I am getting the error ( Unable to confirm payment due to network error). Please check your transactions later).
I tried to do change the App Store location back to India and repeated steps, tried changing WiFi but everytime it is the same problem. Both the credit cards are enabled for International usage. I am terribly stuck at this step.
- WeChat - As I open WeChat application I try to Sign up ( using Mobile). I am entering my name, country as India along with Indian phone number and a password. I accept terms and conditions and then when I am trying to proceed I am getting this error ( Network error. Unable to display the page).
I have tried these steps for AliPay and WeChat multiple times but it’s the same errors. Can someone please help me? I am traveling in another 3 days and this is making me little anxious.
