Better Call Saul Review and Characters' Highlights
Finally, completed watching Better Call Saul today- 17 May 2026
It was such an emotional experience Watching Jimmy McGill going about his everyday things and cons, changing to the unforgiving Saul Goodman was spectacular. Accepting the 86 year sentence when he was down to 7 years was surprising, when he confessed all his crimes, took back Kim on his side, protected the law (listened to Chuck - law is sacred), and finally dealt with his conscience and the consequences of his own actions. All his con schemes were so fun to watch and many of them were very questionable.
The D-Day scheme, i believe Kim was so excited to execute this as shown in a episode - i believe it was S5 last episode - Showed a very different side of Kim. She was so much like Jimmy, but had her guilty conscience hit her many times across the series.
So many characters had such good roles here- Kim - oh the chemistry between Jimmy and Kim was the best, those emotional rollercoasters, how they celebrated was so fun to watch. Fav character along with Jimmy.
Mike - the og person transforming from someone who "Can't pull the trigger" to the Enforcer and Gus's Hitman was spectacular. 2nd fav after Jimmy-Kim. Did everything for Kaylee and Stacey. I believe that he was a gray character. Him saving Saul in the desert was the best move. Nacho - my man Ignacio "Nacho" Varga Was one of the best written characters. His last conversation was his father was so touching and emotional. Was sad, suprised and devastating to see him die in S6 E3. It was unsettling. He just wanted to save his father from the cartel. His plan to change Hector's pills set so many things in motion - Gus gained strong position in the drug distribution, Lalo came to New Mexico to handle things on the Salamanca side of the business, he himself becoming a major player in the Salamanca side(which he never wanted)
Lalo - ohhh this man, changed so many things in BCS and had potential to change BB too. His all time smiling, goofy, unpredictable character was so hard to believe in the drug empire world, changed the course of the story. Murdering Howard Hamlin was so sudden and surprisingly unfortunate.
So finally i would give it a solid 9.8/10, slightly higher than Breaking Bad.
Edit: Always remember The Winner Takes It All.
